University Center of Barika

Higher education plays a salient role in the development and prosperity of societies.

In this respect, the interest of countries in their university education system, and determining the type, quantity, and level of interest in the components of the education system, in a way that guarantees them an effective contribution to achieving the development goals of society, which will not be achieved except with correct scientific planning, whether in terms of preparation or implementation.

The university center of Barika opened its doors during the academic year 2011/2012 as an annex to the University of Haj Lakhdar Batna 01, where it was established by the joint ministerial decision of August 25, 2011 for more than 400 students, to be the first university institution in Barika region begins.

Five years later, the annex was promoted to be a university center by executive order No. 16-146 dated May 23rd, 2016, and according to Decision No. 08 of January 31st, 2017, which includes dedicating the designation of the university center in Barika region, Algeria. It was named after the name of martyr Ahmad Ben Abd al-Razzaq Hamouda, called Si al- Haoués.

The university center of Barika is a public institution of a scientific and cultural nature. It enjoys moral and financial independence and aims to provide scientific and qualitative training for students in various fields.

The capacity of the university center is estimated at 5,000 pedagogical seats, and next to it are two university residences, each with a capacity of 2,000 beds.

The university center follows the LMD system in its program, like the case of all Algerian universities. This program seeks to integrate the University into the development of the economy and the harmonization of the higher education system with the rest of the world. 

This system consists of three cycles which include license degree, which encompasses undergraduate students, a Master degree, related to graduate students, and a Doctorate degree that includes post-graduate ones.

The major tasks of the university center in the field of higher education include:

- Training the necessary frameworks for the economic, social and cultural development of the country,

- Teaching students research methods and promoting training through research and for the sake of research.

- Contribute to the production and generalized dissemination of science and knowledge and their collection and development,

- Participation in continuous training.
