The School of International Development and Global Studies (SIDGS) offers interdisciplinary programs leading to a Master of Arts (MA) in Globalization and International Development and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in International Development. The master’s program is offered in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Law (common law and civil law), and the Faculty of Social Sciences and includes a co-op option. The program draws on the expertise of professors in economics, geography, history, law, political science, religious studies, sociology and anthropology and it benefits from the strength of numerous advanced research institutes and centres. Students are provided with the training needed to address complex, multifaceted problems that may simultaneously encompass economic, political, social, cultural, religious, legal, ethical and environmental elements.
