By combining law and international business, you’ll develop the expertise to resolve legal issues in an international business context. The course will equip you with the skills and qualifications to practice law, or prepare you for a legal role in the corporate sector. In your first year, you’ll focus on four key areas of English law – contract, tort, criminal and public law – and practise applying the law to hypothetical scenarios. You’ll also study the practical side of business, in areas such as management, marketing and accounting. In your second year of study, you will expand your knowledge of law and international business, while your final year will offer the opportunity to hone your writing skills, with a research project or a written module reflecting on your pro bono experience or professional placement. The university aims to deliver a high quality learning environment that embeds intellectual curiosity, innovation and best practice in learning, teaching and student support to enable students to achieve their full academic potential. The employment record of graduates from the University of Reading is excellent, with the vast majority entering occupations of their choice within three months of graduation.
