The Bachelor of Science (Extended) is a four-year degree that provides a pathway for Indigenous students to embark on careers that build on a strong science background. You will have access to the full range of opportunities available in the Bachelor of Science, together with additional support and resources to provide a strong foundation for success in science study. Animals play significant roles in the lives of people and communities, including livestock for food production and pets for companionship. The management of animal health and welfare has wide-ranging implications for areas such as biosecurity, public health, food production and wildlife. This major will help you develop an understanding of animal health and disease, genetics and biotechnology, disease surveillance, and animal behaviour and handling in the context of veterinary medicine, animal production and management, and animal science research.
