The Bachelor of Fine Arts is Australia’s leading specialist arts program, offering intensive, studio-based arts training to students in music, visual and performing arts. Throughout the degree you will attend lectures, workshops and masterclasses to develop your creative, technical and analytical skills. You will write, direct and edit your own work and also crew on fellow student productions. A large component of the degree is focused on practical screen production, with an emphasis on screenwriting, direction and editing. You will be encouraged to be innovative and experimental, to explore ideas and develop the expertise to express ideas for an audience. The VCA’s School of Film and Television is Australia’s premier film school. Our students and graduates alike continue to win numerous industry awards on the national and international stages, including festivals such as Berlin International, Palm Springs, Sundance, Tokyo, London, at Cannes and at the Academy Awards.
