Goals

The Master's Degree in Clinical Approach to Pancreatic Diseases offers a unique opportunity to acquire advanced and up-to-date skills in the multidisciplinary management of pancreatic diseases, both benign and malignant. Thanks to a training program based on the latest scientific evidence, participants will develop an integrated and innovative vision, essential for addressing the challenges of complex diseases that require efficient coordination at the local and national levels. All this will take place under the guidance of international opinion leaders, ensuring direct contact with best practices and the most advanced clinical perspectives in the field. An excellent training experience to become protagonists in the modern clinical landscape.

The expected learning outcome is:

  • in establishing the correct clinical approach (differential diagnosis and etiology) for pancreatic cystic neoplasms and inflammatory diseases of the pancreas with different etiologies;
  • in the acquisition and refinement of the ability to correctly treat inflammatory diseases of the pancreas
  • in the ability to define the correct diagnostic and therapeutic pathway for solid pancreatic neoplasms (adenocarcinoma and neuroendocrine neoplasms).
  • in providing the ability to correctly set up a research project on pancreatic diseases, throughout the entire process from hypothesis development to data collection, statistical analysis, and scientific writing.

Aim of the course

The course aims to train "superspecialists" with knowledge of the epidemiology, etiopathogenesis, and molecular biology of pancreatic diseases. They will be able to correctly diagnose complex conditions and define, within a multidisciplinary approach, the indications for diagnostic tests, endoscopic, oncological, and surgical treatments for inflammatory and neoplastic pancreatic diseases.

Students will be able to manage a flow of patients with these conditions and correctly implement the most advanced medical or invasive treatments, depending on their specialty, and define the relevance of supportive therapies.
