The Level I Master's Degree in  Interdisciplinary Approach to Musculoskeletal Disorders: Osteopathic Integration will be offered in partnership with SOMA, which will host part of the theoretical and practical/application activities. SOMA is an institute of excellence in the field of osteopathy, created to combine highly professional training and clinical experience for the well-being of individuals.

The Master's program aims to provide students with the skills to perfect a multidisciplinary approach to patients with musculoskeletal disorders and their relationship with sensory systems. It will integrate the osteopathic approach, functional anatomy, biomechanics, and clinical medicine, leveraging the best available scientific evidence.

Students will learn assessment models relating to the concept of somatic dysfunction, as an integration to the medical-specialist assessment, useful for understanding the patient's clinical and functional condition with an interdisciplinary perspective.

The Master's program is aimed at doctors, physiotherapists, obstetricians, healthcare professionals including osteopaths with equivalent qualifications, psychologists, and experts with degrees in motor sciences.

Admission Requirements

Qualifications required for admission to the Master's program:
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Nursing, Pediatric Nursing or Obstetrics, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences, Technical and Prevention Health Professions (L-SNT/1, L-SNT/2, L-SNT/3, L-SNT/4) or Diplomas obtained pursuant to the previous legislation referred to in Laws no. 42 of 26 February 1999 and no. 251 of 10 August 2002, deemed valid, pursuant to art. 10 of Law no. 1 of 8 January 2002, for access to Specialist Degrees, Master's Degrees and other courses offered by the University, provided that the candidate holds a five-year high school diploma.
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Sports Science and related fields ;
  • Degree in Medicine and Surgery, and any specialization;
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Psychology and related fields;
  • Osteopaths with an equivalent qualification will also be able to access the Master's degree.
In order to allow candidates with a qualification obtained abroad to access the Master's program, the Teaching Committee may evaluate the suitability of the academic qualification.
