The Master's Degree in Forensic Psychopathology and Clinical Criminology at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University aims to provide participants with adequate and up-to-date theoretical and practical training in forensic psychiatry and criminology, useful for working in the understanding, prevention, and treatment of deviant and criminal behavior.

The program was born from the observation of the inadequacy of graduate degree programs in medicine and surgery, psychology, law, sociology, and psychiatry specialty schools in terms of acquiring theoretical and practical skills, given the growing complexity of the field and the rapidly evolving skill requirements observed in recent years. A key feature of the Master's program is the integration of basic theoretical knowledge with the practical-clinical aspects of forensic and criminological practice. To facilitate this synergy, during the Master's program, participants participate in internships that allow them to put their acquired knowledge into practice.

The Master aims to achieve the following objectives:

- deepen knowledge in the legal, forensic psychopathological and criminological fields;

- acquire the professional tools essential to carry out one's professional activity in the above-mentioned fields;

- acquire the methodological skills that allow one to apply one's professional tools correctly.

The knowledge and tools taught during the Master's program are essential for competently performing a variety of professional activities in forensic psychiatry, law, expert witnessing, criminology, and sociology. These include serving as an expert witness, consultant, expert pursuant to Article 80 of the Italian Criminal Code (OP), and expert member of the Surveillance and Juvenile Court, as well as in criminological research and corporate protection.
