The II level Master  in Colorectal Surgery aims to provide advanced and comprehensive training in colorectal surgery, from diagnostics to minimally invasive surgical techniques, with a focus on the management of colorectal diseases. Below are the details of the educational objectives that the Master Program aims to achieve:

  • Advanced Clinical Skills: Acquire in-depth knowledge of diseases of the colon and rectum, including diagnosis, treatment and postoperative management
  • Surgical Techniques: Learn and refine surgical techniques specific to colorectal surgery, in both open and laparoscopic/robotic settings
  • Multidisciplinary Management: Promote a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, working as a team with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists and other specialists.
  • Research and Innovation: Develop clinical and translational research capabilities, contributing to innovation in the field of colorectal surgery
  • Prevention and Screening: Understand and implement prevention and screening strategies for colorectal cancer
  • Complication Management: Learn to recognize, prevent and manage post-surgical complications specific to colorectal surgery
  • Continuing Update: Keeping knowledge up-to-date, attending conferences, reading scientific publications and continuing education courses.
  • Ethics and Communication: Improve skills in medical ethics, patient communication, and pre- and post-operative counseling.
  • Leadership and Management: Develop healthcare leadership and management skills in order to lead colorectal surgery units or departments.

Eligible candidates hold:

  • Degree in Medicine and Surgery
  • Qualification to practice
  • Best suited candidates hold a Specialization in General Surgery or closely related disciplines

International Candidates are additionally requested to provide:
  •  Legalized translation of the Degree Diploma.
  • Declaration of Value (to be issued by the Italian Embassy/Consulate where the degree was obtained) or the Statement of Comparability.
