You will start with a compulsory module in Research Methods in Mathematical Sciences, as the basis for your programme. You will then be able to select elective modules that fit with your particular interests. The modules offered reflect the research strengths of the School, and are concentrated in pure mathematics (especially algebra and combinatorics), probability and statistics, dynamical systems, and networks. You can study mostly pure mathematics, pure and applied mathematics, or mathematics with statistics.  You may also choose up to two approved Level 6 undergraduate mathematics or statistics modules as elective modules, and up to two approved MSc Astrophysics modules offered by the School of Physics and Astronomy.
