The Department of Performing and Fine Arts came in to existence in the academic year 2019-20 and offers several programmes like Master of Performing Arts-Theatre, M.A Music-Vocal, Master of Fine Arts (Painting) and Ph.D. in Music and Theatre. 

The Department aims to develop and impart the best and latest research practices under the ‘Performance Tradition’ with different modes of presentations, techniques, styles and systems employed in the form of creative communications as part of the syllabi. It also intends to provide insights on cultural heritage of India by guiding the students to realise the great and rich history of performing and fine arts in India. Since the fine arts are a product of artistic and scientific creation, the courses are structured in such a way so as to utilize a clear interdisciplinary approach, encompassing all aspects of human life to explore possibilities of performance and translate the same through the stage and other media. 

The Department of Performing and Fine Arts strives to integrate rigorous practical training with a deep theoretical and contextual understanding of its relations to the contemporary socio-cultural facets. The thrust is also on making the learning process innovative and enterprising. The department empowers students by imparting technical and practical skills to access contemporary avenues of performance, presentation and dissemination through observation, practical exploration and theoretical analysis. 

After the completion of Master of Performing Arts-Theatre, students can get opportunities in the field of Acting, Direction, Designing, Stage Craft, Theatre management, Production Management, Play Writing, Makeup Artist and designer in new media like Radio, Television and Film, Teaching and Research in the field.

After the completion of Master of Arts Music-Vocal, students can get opportunities in the field of Music As:-Indian Classical Musician, Stage Performer, Music Teacher,  Music Composer, Music Arranger, Music Producer, Music Director, Music Therapist, Professional Artist, Musicologist, Teaching and Research.

After the completion of Master of Fine Arts (Painting), students can get opportunities in the field of Painting, Freelance Artist, Art administrator, Restoration specialist, Art curator, Guest Artist, Art Direction, Muralist, Decoration, Art criticism, research and Teaching. 

Most importantly, all arts strive to create sensitive and learned individuals to create a better society. The department is dedicated to equip its students with skills through its various programmes to carry forward these objectives.
