The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme is designed for students wishing to pursue academic or research careers in diversified fields such as education, humanities, social sciences, cultural and creative arts, and science. It focuses on promoting applied research with strong relevance, and advancing knowledge for professional improvement, practical innovation, and policy formulation in education and associated areas, both locally and internationally. Graduates of the programme are expected to make significant contributions to the discipline and/or profession through continued quality research and scholarly activities.

- IELTS score of 6.5 (academic module) with no subtest lower than 6.0/
- TOEFL (internet-based test): Score of 80 (for tests taken before 21 January 2026); Score of 4.5 (for tests taken from 21 January 2026 onwards)
