The Department of Chinese Literature and Applied Studies emphasizes the development direction of ""literary research"" and ""literary application"". Although literary studies are not much different from other departments, the addition of the ""literary application"" course creates a synergistic effect and is enough to become the unique feature of this department. In response to the development of higher education with a low birthrate, our department has taken this opportunity to innovate and transform, in line with the two major goals of national higher education development: ""international connection, local care"" and ""innovative implementation, merger and transformation"". It should be able to turn around in the crisis, develop characteristics, and establish a brand.
Professional development direction-Doctoral classes: Chinese classical literature research, Chinese modern literature research, Chinese cultural literature research
Educational goals-Doctoral class: cultivating literary research talents, cultivating literature interpretation talents, and cultivating cultural application talents
Core Competencies-Doctoral class: academic viewpoint construction ability, literary research and discussion ability, cultural cross-domain application ability
Today's department's professional development, educational goals, and core competencies have educational connotations of basic literary ability, cultural practice ability, and innovative application ability; it also takes into account local care and the promotion of career development, which not only conforms to the spirit of the Department of Chinese Literature, but also demonstrates the unique characteristics of this department compared with other schools (Department of Chinese Language, Department of Chinese Literature, Department of Language Education, Department of Chinese Language, and Department of Applied Chinese Language). However, the social environment has changed rapidly, and the traditional learning areas of the Chinese Department can no longer meet the needs of students for application in society. In particular, cultural analysis abilities, story marketing abilities, word usage abilities, audio-visual media application abilities, and cultural and creative development abilities are all applied to real life in various fields. Therefore, by strengthening the establishment of cross-field abilities through courses, graduates will have broad and varied functional development, strong adaptability, better development potential, and enhanced social participation and contribution. Therefore, we are looking for talents who can use language proficiency, understand the classical and modern, develop local-specific practices, and be able to care about society and love others and protect the world.
