About Fo Guang University
Fo Guang University was founded by Venerable Master Hsing Yun, the founder of Fo Guang Shan. It is the first university in the Lanyang area, Yilan county, in Taiwan. The campus is surrounded by the beauty of its exquisite natural setting, infusing it with spiritual energy and inspiration. Small classes allow for a low of teacher/student ratio as enhancing good learning environment. Currently there are six colleges: Humanities, Social Sciences, LOHAS Industries, Management, Creativity and Technology and Buddhist Studies. Fifteen departments and two programs are under these six colleges according to each of their subjects. We are also a member of Fo Guang Shan University Consortium. There are five universities under this consortium. The five universities share educational resources, and frequently engage in academic exchanges.
