The Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Chinese Language and Literature is a four-year bachelor's degree program. Students must complete at least 41 units over four years, totaling 120 credits (see table below). In addition to the college's graduation requirements, students in this program must obtain a Level 3A or higher in the National Language Commission's Putonghua Proficiency Test to graduate.
Course Objectives:
(1) By leveraging diverse subject knowledge, students can develop independent thinking skills and master the key to self-directed learning, which will benefit them for further study and professional development in the future.
(2) Train students to understand interpersonal communication skills and fully demonstrate their leadership talents;
(3) Encourage students to be sincere and upright, shoulder social responsibility, and abide by professional ethics;
(4) Focus on globalization issues, integrate the essence of local culture, learn from the strengths and discard the weaknesses, and strive to apply what you have learned.
(5) To impart comprehensive and practical Chinese language knowledge, thereby enhancing students' self-confidence and ability to use the Chinese language;
(6) Teach students to understand the connotation of language and literature, cultivate their knowledge of traditional Chinese culture, and help improve their cultural literacy;
(7) Cultivate students’ ability to analyze and solve problems, and encourage students to use their solid knowledge, supplemented by innovative thinking, to give full play to their strengths and contribute their knowledge.
