The College of Sharia at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University is one of the first colleges established at the university. It was established in 1373 AH, corresponding to 1953 AD, under the name: (College of Sharia Sciences), and it is one of the oldest university colleges in the history of education in the Kingdom. This college is concerned with: teaching specialized Sharia sciences, qualifying its students for fatwa, judiciary, legal advice and teaching Sharia sciences, and a number of science students who are qualified to issue fatwas and the judiciary have graduated from it, and other officials, some of whom have become in the leadership positions of the state in different ways, and some of them work in other fields such as teaching and Research and guidance that actively contribute to the scientific movement in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other countries. In the college there are four scientific departments: the jurisprudence department, the fundamentals of jurisprudence department, the Islamic culture department, and the systems department. These departments teach various courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
