The Department of History and Civilization is one of the oldest scientific departments at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, where the department’s journey began in 1390 AH. It was affiliated with the Department of Social Studies at the College of Arabic Language, which changed its name to the College of Arabic Language and Social Sciences. In the year 1396 AH, the social sciences departments became independent in a stand-alone college named the College of Social Studies and has two departments, history and geography.
