In1398 AH, Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University established a specialized department in Islamic economics affiliated to the College of Sharia in Riyadh. In 1422 AH, the department's name was changed to (Economics and Administrative Sciences), and it was divided into three tracks: Economics, Business Administration and Accounting. In 1427 AH  the department has become an independent college under the name of "College of Economics and Administrative Sciences", which includes five scientific departments: economics, business administration, accounting, finance, investment and banking, and in 1433 AH  a sixth department was opened in the college, which is the Department of Insurance and Risk Management.
