Faculty at the Department of Community & Mental Health Nursing are dedicated to learning and teaching in the health sciences to fulfill the Vision and Mission of the Faculty of Nursing in general through four primary tasks: teaching, research, patient care, and public service.​

​The Department currently encompasses 27 Faculty Members, there are 18 doctoral prepared  (5 Full Professor, 7 Associate Professors, and 6 Assistant Professors ), 1 Master prepared Instructor, and 8 Master's prepared Full Time lecturers; in addition to 2 Clinical Trainers with  BSN degrees working as a supporting staff.  Moreover, the department is currently sponsoring 1 scholar to pursue PhD in the department related fields.​

The Department offers undergraduate courses in the areas of:​ Nursing Research, Nursing Administration, Nursing Ethics, Mental Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Health Education, Health promotion, as well as supervise the Clinical Training for the senior fourth year students.

As a part of the faculty of nursing, this department offers specialized theory and clinical courses that allow nursing students to demonstrate an adequate level of technical and theoretical skills. Students are exposed to various nursing competencies including those related to nursing research, administration, and mental health.

The Department also offers two Graduate Master Degrees, one in Community Health Nursing and the other in Nursing Service Administration. The focus of the Community Health Nursing Master Program is the integration of community health theory and research in the development, and implementation of community partnership interventions that build community capacity. While the Master of Science in Nursing Services Administration program enables students to examine and study ideas, issues, and roles, and develop skills that support the development of innovative nursing practice as well as managerial and leadership qualities.
