This MSc suits those with a background in psychology, history or art, as mental health nursing is a rewarding career with unlimited potential for doing good in the world. King’s Mental Health course equips students with both the practical skills and the theoretical understanding of how to care for people effectively. Graduating students will possess the knowledge, skills and values to perform competently with a range of clients/patients and presentations, both in hospitals and in community settings. They will also develop skills in planning, leading and evaluating high quality care to clients/patients, their families and carers and to work effectively with inter-professional and inter-agency teams. The UK Government has announced that nursing, midwifery and many allied health students will benefit from guaranteed, additional support of at least £5,000 a year. The funding will be available from next year and will not have to be repaid.  Graduates who qualify from King’s courses also gain professional registration as a Mental Health Nurse from the Nursing and Midwifery Council. This course is approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
