Overview
The Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Master of Engineering (M.Engg.) in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) are advanced postgraduate programs designed to develop research excellence, technical expertise, and innovation in computer science and related engineering disciplines.
The program extends over two academic years (divided into four semesters) and consists of 36 credit hours. The M.Sc. program emphasizes research and innovation with 50% of total credits dedicated to thesis work, while the M.Engg. program focuses on professional and applied learning, including a 6-credit project component.
Both programs follow an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework, ensuring that graduates acquire not only theoretical and practical mastery but also the competencies required to address evolving technological challenges. Entry Requirements (for CSE Program)
Academic Qualification
Candidates must hold a B.Sc. in Engineering degree in ICT, CSE, EEE, ETE, ECE, or an equivalent discipline from any recognized university.
Applicants must have obtained a minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00 (or equivalent).
The bachelor’s degree must be of at least four (4) years’ duration and approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh.
Candidates possessing degrees from foreign universities must have equivalency certified by the UGC.
Current Postgraduate Students
Candidates currently enrolled in any M.Sc. (Engg.) or M.Engg. program at a recognized institution may also apply.
Application Fee
A non-refundable fee of BDT 1000 (One Thousand Taka) must be paid during the application process.
Selection Procedure
All applicants are required to appear in a written admission test.
Final selection will be based on the admission test performance and previous academic records.
