Our university established a preparation office on August 31, 1992 to actively develop all preparatory work. Throughout three years of careful preparation, all work was smoothly carried out, and on July 1, 2005, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the hotel management department was founded and formally started classes on March 1, 2006. Because this department is the first of its kind in the whole country and sticks to the educational philosophy of “pragmatic approach first”, it has created many new and innovative programs including the sandwich teaching method, labor education, etc. Since the start of classes, this department has received cooperation and support from all walks of life, including students and their parents.
Through many diligent years, this department has made great progress in terms of faculty, teaching and equipment and then in February 2000, established the night program. In August 2000, it was upgraded to a two-year program with approval, and in 2002, it added a four-year hotel management department, contributing to the training of talented, high level professionals in hotel endeavors. In 2007, it enrolled students in a special Vietnamese class that was newly established in the four-year hotel management program, and in 2008, it enrolled students for the special production and learning cooperation class. In August 2010, the hotel department was reformed into the hospitality and tourism university.
