The Physics and Astronomy Program provides students with a deep understanding of the fundamental laws that govern matter, energy, motion, space, and time. This program combines theoretical knowledge with experimental and observational skills to explore both the physical world on Earth and the vast universe beyond it.
In physics, students study core areas such as mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, quantum physics, optics, and nuclear physics. In astronomy, they explore astrophysics, cosmology, planetary science, stellar evolution, and space science, gaining insight into the structure, origin, and evolution of the universe.
The curriculum emphasizes mathematical modeling, scientific computing, laboratory experiments, and observational techniques, enabling students to analyze physical phenomena, interpret astronomical data, and solve complex scientific problems. Students also develop strong analytical, critical thinking, and research skills through projects, simulations, and laboratory or telescope-based work.

Yes. Mathematics is a fundamental tool in both physics and astronomy. Students use mathematical methods to model physical laws, analyze experimental results, and understand cosmic phenomena. The program usually includes courses in calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations to support scientific studies.
Graduates can work in research institutions, observatories, space agencies, laboratories, and technology companies. Career options include physicist, astronomer, data analyst, research assistant, educator, engineer, and roles in fields such as space science, energy, telecommunications, and scientific computing. Many students also continue with master's or doctoral studies.
