About Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University
Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University gained full independent university status in 2009 and was named Al Kharj University. Prior to that, its campuses were colleges under the King Saud University. Later, in 2015 the university was renamed Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University.
The university is located in Al-Kharj, a city in central Saudi Arabia.
The university is organised into four different types of academic colleges: scientific colleges, health colleges, humanities colleges, and community colleges. The scientific colleges include the college of business administration and the college of engineering, while the health colleges include the college of pharmacy and the college of dentistry. Each college offers a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes.
Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University is ranked 15th in Saudi Arabia and amongst the top 90 universities in the Arab region by QS Top Universities. The Webometrics rankings place the university 17th in the country and 72nd in Asia.
Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University is also ranked 14th nationally and 37th in Arab region by UniRANK. Globally, the university appears amongst the top 3000 universities in the various league tables including Webometrics.
Throughout the year the university carries out research in a range of areas and publishes its findings in two scientific journals: the Journal of Educational Sciences and the Journal of Sharia and Arabic Sciences.
Every year the university hosts the International Conference on Advanced Materials and their Applications. This conference is led by experts in the fields of nanotechnology, polymeric materials, materials for renewable and sustainable energy, and catalysts in the petrochemical industry.
The Administration of International Cooperation and Scientific Societies is responsible for developing partnerships between the university and other higher education institutions across the globe. These partnerships facilitate academic and scientific exchanges.
