The College of Pharmacy at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University is considered one of the advanced comprehensive facilities for pharmaceutical education, which is distinguished in the field of education and scientific research, and professional services in the field of pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical sciences. The pharmacy education at the College of Pharmacy at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University prepares students to start practicing pharmacy as active members of the health care team or to take on other roles that require the skills and scientific knowledge of the pharmacist. Also, pharmaceutical education will prepare students to fulfill their role as professionals and citizens who are fully aware of the changes in the field of health care, and this education is responsible for creating and disseminating new knowledge about pharmaceuticals, and for the role of these preparations in the health care system that characterizes the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The College of Pharmacy at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University realizes that pharmacy care is a dynamic and ever-evolving pattern of pharmacy practice, in which the pharmacist integrates with other health care practitioners, and plays an active role in the optimal selection of medication according to the condition of each patient, and to dispenses medications to patients in a scientific and professional manner. With direct responsibility for guiding the patient to the optimal way to obtain the desired results from the treatment. Pharmacy college graduates also supervises the preparation of intravenous solutions and medications of critical importance in saving the lives of patients, and follows up on the concentrations of high-risk drugs in the biological fluids of in-patients.
The professional program of pharmacy provides academic skills to enable the pharmacist to collaborate with other members of the health team and to share responsibility with them for the desired results of drug therapy and other treatments. This professional program will also enhance the scientific knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes and values required by aspects of pharmacy care directed towards the general practice of pharmacy in any setting.
The philosophy of practice as well as the necessary professional attitudes and ethics will flourish during the course of study. Moreover, the College of Pharmacy ensures the professional growth of students, including a positive outlook towards all aspects of pharmacy practice.
