As a Dual BA Program student you'll begin your college education by spending tw- years at one of three Sciences Po campuses, each of which is devoted to a particular region of the world and offers a heavy linguistic and cultural focus:

  • Le Havre - Located on the Normandy Coast and focusing on Asia, with language instruction in Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, and Korean.
  • Menton - Located on the French Riviera and focusing on the Mediterranean countries and the Middle East, with language instruction in Arabic, Hebrew, Italian, Spanish, and Turkish.
  • Reims - Located in the Champagne region and offering programs that focus on either North America or Africa, the Transatlantic campus offers language instruction in Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swahili. Students in Reims focus on relations between Europe and Africa or Europe and North America during their first two years.

After completing the Sciences Po curriculum, students will matriculate at Columbia University School of General Studies (GS). While at GS, students further their study of the social sciences by completing the requirements for a major while als- cultivating intellectual breadth by fulfilling Core distribution requirements in a variety of disciplines, including literature, art, music, science, and the humanities.

Columbia's Core Curriculum provides the foundation for a traditional liberal arts education, assuring that students develop critical skills in writing and quantitative reasoning while exposing them to a range of knowledge and disciplines. No two students complete the Core Curriculum in the same way; moreover, given the unique nature of the Columbia undergraduate environment, classes at Columbia contain a mix of age ranges and class years.
