Analyse emerging lifestyles, explore new urban realities. Model, prototype, and build across different scales to address the specific needs of territories. Approach each project through both thought and action—from defining uses to implementation. Trained in spatial analysis and user behaviour, you will design living spaces, environmental design, furniture systems, and services that encourage interaction and create shared experiences.

The Spatial Design programme aims to enable students to:

  • Develop and master expertise across key areas of design, addressing current and future challenges, through a multidisciplinary faculty and tailored programmes
  • Apply a project-based approach through a modular curriculum and flexible pedagogy, enabling tailored responses to real-world challenges, with a significant proportion of courses taught in English
  • Integrate human and social sciences, as well as life sciences, by approaching design with a critical perspective to better understand and address contemporary issues
  • Engage with research by leveraging the expertise of a dedicated research team and integrating the latest advancements in design into the curriculum
  • Embrace an ethical approach to design and develop awareness of the social and environmental responsibilities of future designers
  • Collaborate within a dynamic ecosystem, interacting with a strong network of partners and companies to continuously align the programme with current design industry expectations

Admissions

1. Applicants from the French high school system

(in France or French schools abroad)

Applications must be submitted through the Parcoursup platform.

2. Applicants from an international or non-French high school system

You can apply either through Campus France or directly to Strate.

The admission process is designed to assess your creativity, motivation, and potential. It includes:

  • A high school diploma (or equivalent)

  • A motivation letter outlining your interest in design

  • A creative portfolio presenting your projects, ideas, or visual thinking

  • A 45-minute individual interview with our admissions team

  • Proof of English proficiency (minimum B2 level)

Parallel Admissions (Advanced Entry)

Join Strate during your studies

Have you already completed one or two years of higher education (e.g. foundation programme, applied arts, BTS, IUT, business or engineering school)?
You may be eligible to join Strate through parallel admissions.

Each year, a limited number of places are available (outside Parcoursup) for entry into the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year, for students wishing to continue or redirect their studies towards design.

Strate welcomes students from a wide range of academic backgrounds. Entry is possible from art and design schools, as well as engineering or business programmes.

Admission is subject to:

  • The relevance of your academic background

  • Your portfolio and motivation

The validation of the required number of ECTS credits for the intended year of entry
