Ø    Master’s degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering:

A Master’s degree is an academic qualification granted at the postgraduate level. The Master of Science in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering degree is intended for students with undergraduate degrees in mechanical engineering or a closely related field.

Students who graduate with a master’s degree should possess advanced knowledge and a high level of skills and techniques associated with their chosen subject area. Students' undergraduate backgrounds should include mechanical and manufacturing engineering core courses in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and strength of materials, dynamics of mechanical systems, systems analysis, machine design, manufacturing, and design….etc. This degree is intended for students presenting themselves as professional mechanical engineers.

Ø   Master’s degree “MSc” in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering.

 

Course Description:

According to the regulation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the duration of study is 2 years as below:

First Year:

·         The 1st Semester comprises five modules, including two general modules and three core modules relevant to the department specialization.

·         The 2nd Semester includes five core modules related to the department specialization.

Second Year:

·         In the second year, comprised of two semesters (1st and 2nd Semester), students undertake their MSc. Thesis.

The MSc program is structured with a total of 120 European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) credits as follows:

Requirements: (who can apply):

Students with the essential qualifications specified by the department should be compatible with the regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

 

How to Apply:

·         Obtain official transcripts for transfer credit.

·         Complete the admission application.

·         Write a personal statement.

·         Success in the competitive exam.

 

 

Language Requirement:

English language skill is required (IELTS-Academic, TOEFL, PTE, Language Center Certificate), taking into consideration regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

 

 

 

Scientific Ability Exam Process:

·         It includes some core modules (four or five), which are specified by the Department’s postgraduate scientific committee.

·         A written examination typically spans approximately three hours.

·         The competition is among students who succeed in the exam.

·         Students who pass the exam compete; based on the number of available seats.

 

Thesis Submission Process:       

·         Get the supervisor's approval on the thesis

·         College formatting approval with college affiliation (before defense).

·         Submit the first copy of the MSc thesis to the graduate study office.

·         Scientific evaluation approval of master’s thesis.

·         Submit a paper copy of the thesis to examination committee.

·         Makes the corrections specified by the thesis examination committee.

·         Singed papers (after successful defense).
