The Department of Electrical Power and Control Engineering at TCE Sulaimani Polytechnic University was founded in 2018 as one of the fifth engineering departments of the Technical College of Engineering Sulaimani Polytechnic University, offering education at the highest standards to its students. Our mission is to serve society through excellence in education, research, and public service. We aspire to instill in our students the attitudes, values, and vision that will prepare them for professionalism and lifelong learning. We strive to generate new knowledge and technology and aim to educate our graduates for following technological and theoretical developments, and use them to serve the society. We have set our main objective to be one of the best educational institutions in the geographical area that covers Kurdistan and Iraq.

To be well recognized regionally and internationally for excellence in its educational programs and innovative research activities.
To provide special learning opportunities and a conducive environment for students to enhance their skill in technical, which would enhance the student ability to work in the real world.
To enhance the research facilities, training, and consultancy services to bridge the gap between industry and academia.
To offer continuing education and need-based skill development programmes to the students for sustainable improvement and development of the society.
To provide highly effective modules to serve the electric power sector. In addition, providing a wide range of services in the field of power generation, energy management, and transmission & distribution.
To be a reliable source to provide particularly or completely technical solutions for the current engineering problems in most of the industrial applications such as cement factories, power stations, oil refineries, and agriculture sectors
