The department was approved by the Ministry of Education in 1996 to enroll students, and has approved the establishment of a master's program. It will start enrolling students in the 106th academic year. It is not only the first in the north, but also the first in the country to be established by a school of dentistry. A department that aims to cultivate professionals in dental technology. In addition to integrating the in-house resources of the School of Stomatology to strengthen the learning effect, the department also uses the Taipei Medical University Hospital, Wanfang Hospital and the Dental Department of Shuanghe Hospital as important institutions for students' clinical internships, in terms of theoretical foundations, internship operations, and clinical practice. Thanks to the professional training, it is expected that the department will become the most complete and advanced clinical teaching center for dental technicians in the country.
The department cultivates professional dental technicians through the integrated teaching of technology, art and academics. Now that students are becoming more professional in the division of dental medicine, in addition to professional skills and licenses, students are also expected to engage in dental research. When introducing and applying new materials technology, it can be in line with international standards, so that the dental technology industry can develop continuously.
