Our Ph.D program in Computer Science is research-oriented and integrated with the Master in Computer Science. It is focused in four lines of investigation, namely: bio-inspired algorithms, models of machine learning, bioinformatics and biomedicine, and data science and applied mathematics. Our program is strongly supported by the activity carried out within four Strategic Research Focus Group (SRFG): Intelligent Systems, Bioinformatics, Machine Learning Models, and Optimization and Data Science.
General Program Objectives

Prepare independent researchers with competen- ces, knowledge and skills to identify opportunities, develop and conduct original research projects at the frontier of knowledge.
Disseminate the results of research and apply the generated knowledge in the technological de- velopment of the country. To be recognized as a Computer Science program with high impact on the productive, educational/academic and social sectors of the country.
