The Clinical Sciences PhD program aims to strengthen clinical research development, focusing on the most prevalent pathologies within the Mexican population as well as the world's population. On the other hand, the program also focuses on health systems and public health concerns. The PhD is a direct answer to the increasing need for new scientific research focused on the understanding of health and diseases in humans, while still focusing on evidence based medicine and following ethical principles. The aim of this program is to contribute to the improvement of health concerns that have a direct impact on our community. Also, the program looks to increase qualified human capital in Mexico in order to reduce the current lag in research programs, publications and patents in the heath area.
The objective of the Doctorate in Clinical Sciences is to train professionals in clinical research that: 

  • Be recognized nationally and internationally for their ability to create medical knowledge at three possible levels: at an individual, institutional, and society levels.
  • Create a scientific production based on ethical principles, relevant to the understanding of human health-disease, health care systems, and public health.
  • Be leaders in prestigious organizations for the application of strategies aimed at decreasing inequity in healthcare and increasing the use of resources based on the best evidence.

The Doctorate in Clinical Sciences is aimed at medical doctors who:  
  • Are graduates from a medical specialization from Tecnológico de Monterrey or other prestigious universities approved by the Interinstitutional Commission for the Training of Human Resources in Health (CIFRHS, Spanish) in areas related to the program. 
  • Are interested in continuing their academic training in the path of applied research in topics such as Cardiology, Hematology, and Cancer, Ophthalmology, Neurosciences, and Mental Health.
  • Wish to be trained as scientists for the development of clinical research projects in the areas of Health.
