Students passionate about learning are attracted to Temple because of its variety of academic programs: More than 600 are offered, including 173 bachelor’s degree programs. The university provides all of the resources and opportunities of a large, world-class research institution and the individual attention of a small college—40% of classes offered have fewer than 20 students, with a 13-1 student-faculty ratio.
Over 12,000 students live on or near Main Campus, where they are a short walk from class; fitness facilities; food trucks; and the many cultural, sports and academic events that take place every day at Temple. Student fans can root for the Temple Owls sports teams, which compete in the NCAA Division I American Athletic Conference, as well as a variety of professional teams in Philadelphia. There are around 300 student organizations to check out, and Center City Philadelphia, a hub of history and city life, is a short subway ride from campus.
