Overview

Thammasat University (TU) is the second oldest, leading comprehensive university in Thailand. Inaugurated in 1934 with social science and humanities to serve society’s thirst for modern knowledge. Thammasat, thus, has been known as “the university for the people”.

From the mid-1980s, TU has expanded to cover most disciplines, including science, technology, and health, so as to contribute more to society. Apart from teaching, Thammasat is an internationallyrenowned university, which emphasizes research and innovation. With the vision “Grooming the nextgeneration of leaders for Thailand and international communities”, Thammasat is bringing together students of all backgrounds to maximize their potential and be capable, innovative, caring and want to serve society. Through our multi-dimensional education, Thammasat has produced graduates with high skills, knowledge and adaptability, making Thammasat the university with highest employability rate and high employers’ satisfaction in Thailand.

National and International Collaborative educational network is increasingly flourishing. A collaboration with SkillLane, Thailand’s chief learning and digital training platform, resulted in a codesigned online master’s degree program.  Knowledge and skills are delivered digitally, no longer restricted to traditional full-time students.

Thammasat Researchers has won numerous international awards for innovation, aiming to concretely improve standards of living in health, medicine, industry, and communication.  These global acknowledgements are evidence of TU’s academic achievements and creativity.

International Students seeking an institution of higher learning with a global mindset will find that TU is ready to meet the challenge.  It is well prepared to produce leaders for new generations in Thailand and overseas who are able to cope with increasingly complex demands of the contemporary world.

Thammasat offers world-class education; all of our curricula are adapted to respond to the country’s needs and the increasing significance of Asia and the ASEAN community.  - We enhance our leadership role in various forms of academic collaborations with leading universities in ASEAN and Asia.  - We promote involvement in spearheading and suggesting creative solutions to society through various media, particularly in issues within the context of the university’s academic expertise.
 - We foster Thammasat’s spirit and advance society, democracy, morality, arts and culture for the public and society through our curricular and extra-curricular activities and academic services, along with regular holistic health services to society.
