The Master of Arts Program in English Language Teaching (ELT) is a two-year weekend graduate program especially designed for both international and Thai teachers of English who seek to advance their analytical, theoretical, and professional abilities. 
The two-year curriculum, taught in English by international and Thai instructors, combines a strong theoretical foundation with highly practical courses to equip graduates with the essential knowledge and skills to be effective and proficient practitioners in the classroom. 
There are two options available: plan A and plan B.  While plan A mainly consists of course work and a thesis, plan B consists of course work, a written comprehensive examination, and an independent study instead of a thesis.

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any field of study from a local or foreign institution recognized by the Thammasat University Council. Applicants may be graduates of the Graduate Diploma Program in Teaching English as a foreign Language from the language Institute, Thammasat University. Applicants must meet the requirements in “Number 8: Admission” of Thammasat University’s Graduate School under the 1998 Master of Arts Programs Section. Applicants also must successfully pass an English language entrance examination and an interview in English.

Thammasat offers graduate degree programs in all fields, covering sociology, humanities, science and technology, and health sciences, in Thai, bilingual and international programs.

There are two types of lecture sessions: normal programs in office hours and special programs in the evenings or on weekends.

Students on master’s degree programs can pursue their own interests in research-oriented programs. Students are required to complete a “thesis” to contribute to a new body of knowledge or conduct a specialized study in their industries or careers.

The doctorate degree programs encourage students to conduct a “dissertation” research contributing to the country’s development and new technologies.
