Universidad de La Salle ’s main campus is located in Bogotá, Colombia. Considered the fifth best city in Latin America for students, Bogotá is Colombia’s political and economic capital, attracting tourists and making the city multi-cultural.


Against the backdrop of the Andes mountains, Bogotá offers beautiful sceneries and plenty of activities including hikes in the surrounding natural parks, sightseeing and cultural expositions and museums.

 

Universidad de La Salle has five QS Stars for inclusion and four for social responsibility.

In 2014, Universidad de La Salle became the first Latin American higher education institution to receive the internationalisation quality certification from the European Accreditation Consortium (ECA) in the framework of the Certificate for Quality in Internationalisation project (CEQUINT). It was renewed in November 2020 for five years.

 

The main language of teaching is Spanish, however, some programmes at La Salle offer courses taught in English, for example those related to International Relations, International Business and Education.

Universidad de La Salle has four campuses , three of which are located in and named after different neighbourhoods of Bogotá.

·        Chapinero Campus

·        Candelaria Campus

In addition, Universidad de La Salle has a campus located in Yopal – Casanare which focuses on rural education called "Utopia".


Its unique educational project integrates agricultural and productive opportunities for resource-limited young people from rural areas of Colombia who have been impacted by armed conflict. The goal is to transform community leaders capable of inspiring social, political, and productive changes, and ultimately revitalise the nation’s agricultural sector.

Utopia houses more than 200 fully sponsored students that come from approximately 21 different Colombian underserved departments (states).


La Salle offers the following facilities:

·        Sports facilities: all campuses hold sports facilities (such as gymnasium, sport courts)

There are many on-campus and virtual support systems for students, in addition to the advisory provided by the Office for International and Interinstitutional:

·        On campus medical services

·        Library and data base access

·        Psychological counselling

·        Gym and sports classes

·        Student associations

Approximately 2.4 percent of all students are international.

In 2019, we had the representation of 14 different nationalities:

There are many extracurricular activities and services available for students:

·        Art and cultural

·        Volunteering

·        Sports training

·        Gym facilities

 

Students live both on and off campus. However, students at the Utopia campus live on campus during their undergraduate programme.

 

In the Chapinero campus, the Office of International and Institutional Affairs manages a guesthouse, that sometimes serves as housing for international students and visiting faculty for short stays.

The Office for International and Interinstitutional Relations provides advisory to international students searching for housing, on renting spaces, suggestions for areas with transport facilities, proximity and entertainment.

Here is the graduate programmes admissions information for domestic and international students.

 

For exchange programmes:

·        Spring Semester (January- June): Open call is from September until mid-October of the previous year

·        Fall Semester (July- November): Open call is from March until mid-April

 

All nominations must be completed by your home institution through the NEXUS online platform under Global Mobility_Incoming Mobility_External Coordinators . Students should also submit the following documents

·        Copy of passport

·        Motivation letter

·        A letter of recommendation from a faculty member of your home institution

·        CV

·        Language requirement: Spanish B1 and English B1. Provide certificates of proficiency in known languages, if available

·        A recent digital photo

 

For exchange programmes, students from institutions with an established cooperation agreement with Universidad de La Salle will receive a full (100 percent) scholarship for the semester tuition fees. Tuition fees at their home institution may still apply.

For international graduate students, there are some scholarships available through the Reciprocity programme for foreigners in Colombia – ICETEX.

Expenses covered by the programme (exact values are updated annually):

·        Contingencies once during the study period

·        Monthly stipend

·        Installation costs once during the study period

·        100 percent scholarship

·        Books for each year of completed studies

According to the most recent alumni survey, 77.4 percent find employment within 12 to 24 months of graduation.
