The Faculty of Sciences is one of the most traditional at the University of Oviedo. In the eighties of the 20th century, it gave rise to the faculties of Chemistry, Geology and Biology. In the following decade, it was reconstituted with the studies of Physics and Mathematics.
The center currently teaches the teachings leading to the Physics Degree and the Mathematics Degree, as well as the still active subjects of the homonymous degrees in extinction. It also offers the Double Degree in Physics + Mathematics and the Double Degree in Mathematics + Physics. As postgraduate studies, it has a PhD in Mathematics and Statistics, the Master's Degree in Advanced Physics. Particles, Astrophysics, Nanophysics and Quantum Materials, the Master's Degree in Initiation to Research in Mathematics and the Master's Degree in Mathematical Modeling, Statistics and Computing.
The Double Degree in Physics + Mathematics is designed to be studied in 5 courses. The minimum number of ECTS credits required to obtain the degree is 345.
