Providing outstanding care for people with a range of mental health conditions is a challenging, but greatly rewarding, career. Approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), our Mental Health Nursing degree course will give you the blend of practical experience with essential knowledge and skills to help meet high demand for workers in the fields of nursing and mental health.

Led by expert clinical practitioners, you will gain a deep understanding of human development and managing medicine safely, as well as the technical and personal skills required for delivering high-quality, compassionate care for patients in ranging environments. On successful completion of our mental health nursing top-up to degree course, you can apply for Registered Nurse (Mental Health) status with the NMC.

To support your mental health nurse training, you will gain vital practical experience on industry placements in a range of settings, thanks to our excellent links with the healthcare sector. You will also develop your hands-on practical skills during your studies through a variety of learning experiences in our state-of-the-art facilities on campus, including a simulated clinical environment and virtual reality technology.
