Explore the interconnection of human activities and environmental systems both locally and globally. Build specialty technical skills in spatial analysis and qualitative research, and apply them to 21st century challenges such as environmental degradation, climate change adaptation, ecological and community sustainability, social and environmental justice, food and energy futures. All of these and more are the concerns of professional Geographers. Also see B.Sc. Environmental Geoscience and Geomatics.  Our community includes nineteen full-time faculty who are acclaimed researchers and award-winning teachers, numerous sessional faculty committed to high quality instruction, and seven dedicated staff who provide outstanding administrative and technical support. Our graduate and undergraduate student body are the lifeblood of our Department, and engage in academic and extracurricular activities that connect scholarship, practice and lived experience through teaching and research. Collectively we strive to explore and address major social and environmental issues facing our world, from the local to the global scale.
