This postgraduate degree will provide students with advanced training in research methods in animal behaviour, equipping them with the research and professional skills required for a research career. The Department of Neuroscience, Psychology and Behaviour has particular research strengths in: Cellular and molecular neurobiology; Cognitive and behavioural sciences; Perception and sensory processing; Health and psychological wellbeing. All teaching is seminar based, or in one-to-one tutorial and research supervision sessions, with continuous assessment in the form of a research protocol, oral and poster presentations, and in the development of portfolios of assessed activities. Each student will write a thesis on original empirical research, which will involve an oral exam (viva).
