Department of Economics at the University of Piraeus, is one of the core components of the institution since its creation as the “School of Industrial Studies” in the interwar period. The department was one of the first three to become independent in 1984 and has been consistently serving education, research and social contribution ever since. The Department of Economics four-year undergraduate Program consists of a variety of courses, core curriculum courses and modern elective courses, which provide both theoretical and empirical knowledge, essential for understanding complex economic situations. Additionally, the program offers students the opportunity to participate in Erasmus Mobility-Student Exchange programs, visiting foreign corresponding university Departments, thus gaining a taste of professional experience from renowned companies in the field, through Placement.
