The Management program at the UTAS offers students a robust academic foundation in contemporary management theory, organizational leadership, and informed decision-making. The curriculum systematically introduces key principles, including financial and innovation management, marketing strategies, and the structural dynamics of managerial systems.
Students gain insights into how core management functions—such as planning, organizing, coordinating, and leading—operate within diverse organizational contexts. Through a blend of theoretical study and applied learning, students engage with concepts related to organizational change and explore models that support effective change implementation. A particular focus is placed on the human elements of management, especially motivation. Students examine foundational motivational theories—such as Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, McGregor’s Theory X and Theory Y, expectancy theory, and equity theory—to understand how motivation impacts managerial effectiveness and overall organizational performance.
By integrating academic theory with practical management tools, the program equips graduates with the competencies required for leadership roles in both public and private sectors.
