The Taxation and Tax administration program at UTAS is designed to develop highly skilled professionals with a deep understanding of both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of taxation, fiscal policy, and financial management in both public and private sectors. It aims to equip students with a solid grounding in economics, finance, data analysis, and legal frameworks, preparing them to navigate and contribute effectively to areas such as tax administration, financial compliance, and policy-oriented economic activities within governmental bodies, businesses, and financial institutions.

During the initial phase of the programme, students build essential knowledge in core subjects such as macroeconomics, microeconomics, mathematics, economic information systems, and foundational finance. This phase focuses on developing the analytical and quantitative competencies necessary for complex tax and fiscal responsibilities. As the curriculum advances, students engage with specialized subjects including tax law and practice, taxation systems, corporate and public finance, financial analysis, risk management, and compliance. They also gain practical exposure to contemporary tools such as data analytics, financial statistics, and financial technologies aligned with evolving practices in tax governance and fiscal transparency.

Graduates of the programme are well-prepared for a broad range of professional roles. These include positions within public finance institutions, tax authorities, compliance and audit units in private enterprises, consultancy firms, and corporate finance teams that require expertise in taxation. They emerge with the capacity to conduct robust economic and financial analysis while understanding the legal and administrative mechanisms that underpin taxation systems. As such, they are suited for roles such as tax officers, fiscal analysts, financial compliance experts, tax policy advisors, and corporate tax managers.
By integrating classical theories of finance and economics with contemporary regulatory, administrative, and technological dimensions of taxation, the programme ensures its graduates are equipped to support the development of transparent, efficient, and forward-looking fiscal institutions—both within Uzbekistan and in global professional contexts.
