The Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree is an internationally recognized dental program which comprises of the first and biggest step towards practicing dentistry. Through this four-year degree, students experience a curriculum that crosses basic and clinical sciences, ensuring that scientific and professional development proceed smoothly through each student’s education. The first and second year delve into the fundamentals of dentistry, basic science and diagnostics. In years 3 and 4, students are given unique opportunities to treat patients in one of U of T’s 14 dental clinics, or through one of the community service learning opportunities.
