The Information School at the University of Washington is a departmental college on the University of Washington campus. We are interested in the relationship between information, technology, and people. Expertise in all areas of information is required for the advancement of science, business, education, and culture. This expertise must include understanding of the uses and users of information, as well as information technologies and their applications. The range of activities at information schools is expanding as schools tackle organizational and social issues related to the way people create, store, find, manipulate and share information. Faculty, staff and students at the University of Washington Information School are committed to shaping how people view and use information. The University of Washington Information School offers graduate degree programs including a Master of Science in Information Management, Master of Library and Information Science, and a PhD in Information Science.
