The program provides in-depth knowledge necessary to describe biochemical and biotechnological processes, particularly in the areas of bioprocess engineering, biochemistry, molecular biology and genetic engineering, bioinformatics, enzymology, bioorganic chemistry, medical analytics, and drug design. Students gain practical knowledge of the use of microorganisms. As part of their diploma thesis, they conduct experiments leading to the isolation and purification of proteins, including recombinant proteins, understand the principles of tissue culture, and implement application projects commissioned by biotechnology industry institutions. They have the opportunity to complete their thesis at the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences or abroad through the ERASMUS program. The program is certified by the EUR-ACE Label, the ENAEE European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education, awarded by the Accreditation Committee of Technical Universities (KAUT). The certificate is recorded in the diploma supplement.
