We invite you to the world of Algorithmic Computer Science - a perfect field for computer science and mathematics enthusiasts, ready to take on mathematical challenges. During your studies, you will learn both classic and state-of-the-art algorithms and explore the mathematical tools used to prove their correctness and test their effectiveness. You will learn many programming languages (both commonly used and very modern ones) and you will be able to choose the right language to solve specific problems.
You will also learn the most important programming paradigms and modern IT tools. In addition to mastering IT skills useful for analyzing and designing IT systems, you will be prepared to start research work in theoretical computer science.
The central element of this major is the Algorithms and Data Structures course. Additionally, you will have a choice of 10 out of 25 courses covering a wide range of topics - from theoretical issues (e.g., Introduction to Graph Theory, Theoretical Foundations of Computer Science), through algorithmic courses (e.g., Metaheuristic Algorithms, Discrete Optimization Algorithms, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence), to purely programming ones (e.g., Programming Languages and Paradigms, or Mobile Applications).
