Studies in the Chemistry program deepen previously acquired knowledge in analytical and organic chemistry. Students become familiar with and develop their knowledge and skills in planning and using techniques currently used to analyze various materials, including biological samples and drugs, or in designing and synthesizing compounds with desired properties, as well as in areas at the intersection of chemistry and medicine. Students become familiar with advanced instrumental and preparative techniques for synthesis and analytical problem-solving. The course develops the ability to understand, describe, and explain phenomena and processes in chemistry and related disciplines. It teaches analytical thinking and a rational approach to problem-solving. Students utilize modern computer software used in chemistry, including modeling structures and processes and accessing chemical databases.
