Bachelor of Science in Safety

In the Safety Program at Illinois State University we prepare our students to serve as competent safety professionals by developing the skill set and intellectual confidence needed to support critical recognition and control of workplace safety and health hazards. We devote all of our resources and energies to creating extraordinary learning opportunities for our students that are based upon a foundation in the sciences and emphasize the technical, managerial, and ethical aspects of safety and health. Why Study Safety? Safety is a curriculum oriented to the creative and systematic application of organized knowledge, process, equipment, and techniques to make decisions which prevent or reduce human and economic loss due to accidental mishaps. They investigate accidents, conduct safety training sessions, develop written documents, determine cost benefit analysis and inventory hazardous material.
