This BSc (Hons) Computing for Business degree will prepare you for the growing range of jobs in the technology sector. The industry needs well rounded graduates with advanced technical understanding, so this course covers technical modules and websites alongside broader topics relevant to business such as marketing.

The tech industry is always growing, so some of your future careers and jobs may not exist yet. This course prepares you for a future in the technology industry by giving you a solid foundation in technical knowledge and developing your learning and softs skills. 

You will explore technical careers paths and managerial opportunities and have opportunities to attend various events including Hackaton at the Ministry of Defence. Previous students received a commendation for their innovative computer concept which used AI to support the British Armed Forces. 

In some modules you will work with a real client to deliver a product to their specifications, giving you real work experience and live projects to add to your CV when you graduate. 

Your first year will cover a broad range of management subjects as well as programming and you will explore why businesses needs technology. In your second year you will cover more focused subjects including project management, working with clients and dynamic and data driven systems as you investigate how to make information systems happen. Your final year is about managing an Information System and you will complete a Management Project where you will study in depth an IT related topic of your choice, or build a system based solution.

We accept a wide range of internationally recognised qualifications. As a general guide, most of our undergraduate programmes accept one of the following.

  • A recognised and relevant foundation/Access course (minimum pass mark for a UK-based foundation programme is usually 55%)
  • High School Diploma (to age 18) where it is deemed equivalent to A Levels (3 A Level passes at BCC/CCC)

As a general guide, for postgraduate study you'll need to hold the equivalent of a good honours degree (a 2:1 or 2:2 depending on the course) from a recognised university.

We also accept applications from students who have completed a 'top-up' degree at a UK university. If you hold a UK degree you don't need to provide an IELTS or other English language test certificate.
